How To Download & Save
Free Backgrounds, Free Photos, & Free Graphics
All graphics offered for free on these pages
by DesignQuery.com will be full size and complete when you save them to
your hard drive. In most cases they are displayed at full size. If they
are displayed smaller than actual size on the thumbnail page, they will
still be saved at full size when you right-click and choose "Save
As".
Here are two ways to download and save these images
to your own computer:
1) Right-click on an image and choose "Save As"
(Windows).
2) Click on the image so that it tiles as a background
image, right-click on a blank area of the page and choose "Save Background
As
" (Windows).
Important:
To use these graphics, they must be saved to your own computer
or server. Please do not link directly to images on www.free.designquery.com
or www.designquery.com. Folder and/or page names will periodically be
changed, and your links will be broken (if you try to link directly to
images on www.free.designquery.com or www.designquery.com).
How to Use DesignQuery.com Free Graphics as
Windows Desktop Wallpaper
Any of these background image tiles can be used as
Windows wallpaper. If you have a graphics program, use it to save the
tile as a bitmap (.bmp), and copy it to your Windows* folder.
Or they can be tiled on your desktop as wallpaper.
For newer versions of Windows:
Simply copy the images to your Windows**/Web/Wallpaper directory. Then
right-click on your desktop, choose "Properties", click the
"Desktop" tab, and look for the image in the "Background"
list. Remember to change the "Position" dropdown box to read
"Tile". The newer versions of Windows that allow web-style desktop
themes will display .jpg and .gif image files as well.
* The name of the "Windows" folder will
look differently depending on which operating system you're computer
is using. For example, it could be "Win" or "WINNT",
etc. But it will always be found directly off your C:/ drive. For those
who are unsure, this means open "My Computer", click "Local
Disk C:/", open the Windows folder and copy the bitmap image tile
there.

Display Problems
on www.free.designquery.com
Background tiles are set up to tile themselves onto
the background of the page when you click on them. This is done through
the use of a JavaScript code. If this function does not work try one of
the following solutions...
If the graphic does not tile the background when
you click on it, you may need to enable the display of active content.
To do this, follow the steps below...
In Internet Explorer 6, Service Pack 2:
(You will need to do this if you receive an error message saying "Did
you notice the Information Bar?")
1. Click the Information Bar.
2. Click Allow Blocked Content.
(the Information Bar has to be visible to do this):
1. In Internet Explorer, underneath the Address Bar,
click the Information Bar when it notifies you that a pop-up window
has been blocked.
2. Click Show Blocked Pop-up. Internet Explorer
might block multiple pop-ups at one time. If this happens, click Pop-up
Blocked and then click Show Blocked Pop-up.
Hold down the Ctrl key while clicking
on an image that links to an example window. This will override the
pop-up blocking function for that instance only.
